The Web Hi by United Nude

These heels have been spotted in designer collections, on the red carpet, Effie Trinket wore a pair in one of The Hunger Games movies, and I’m lucky enough to have a pair (or two) in my collection!

The whole shoe has a geometric, cellular design that gives it an edgy futuristic look that I instantly fell in love with. The upper part is leather and comes in black, white, red, and blue.  The heels are metal and come in gold, silver, matte black, and rose gold/copper.

These black beauties are probably what started my obsession with sculptural footwear. I took them with me to do a photo shoot at Pillar Falls in Twin Falls, Idaho, which is a bit of a hike to get to, but well worth it!  If you wait until autumn the river is low enough to walk across and there is a myriad of beautiful waterways and stone pillars to explore.

 The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

As part of Effie Trinket's fantastical blue outfit, she wears the blue version of these heels.  I don't think I've ever seen a pair for resale, so if you have them then you're very lucky!

White Variation

I've been following Viktoria Modesta for a while, and I know she wears United Nude a lot, but I hadn't seen the pictures of her at the 2015 Kingsman: The Secret Service premiere, and was delighted to see her wearing the white version of the Web Hi's.  Amusingly enough, I had started watching Kingsman for the first time last night.  I definitely enjoyed it, but if we're being honest, Mark Strong is probably most of the reason.

Speaking of the white version, they were also seen in Bibhu Mohapatra's 2013 Resort collection.  I have the green dress from that season, which I wore to the Biohacking Conference, and I recently found a pair of white Web Hi's and am now a proud owner of the full look!

The matte black version was also used in the collection.

There is also a gorgeous red version with copper/rose gold hardware.

Rubber Sole Problems

Okay, this is the bad news.  I have two pairs of these and they both have the same issue.  The rubber on the bottom is old and "melty".  This means that they will leave sticky black marks on your floor and they will pick up hair and everything else you walk on. They are beautiful and worth getting, but you'll probably want to resole them to avoid those issues.

I actually have a set of screwdrivers that did the same thing.  They were always in their case and never left out in the elements, but they gradually deteriorated and the handles are now too sticky and gross to hold.
